Start with the surreal tunes of indie rock ft. Mangy Mutt, Michellar and The Cumberland River Project. Listen to the tunes and follow these artists for more!:

Mangy Mutt-Devils Got Your Soul

The blues swing will guide you home. Mangy Mutt know how to bring that true crisp rock sound home, and they never miss. This is the way you compose music when you’re just jamming out and bouncing ideas off the walls. For the sinister Devils Got Your Soul, Mangy Mutt set that steady strut pace and keep the guitar work for the shine. The slide guitar takes all the attention in the opening, after which the vocals come in. Though they’re spoken word style, he gives them that punch to bring that SRV like touch. Frills and bluesy licks keep the colour on the track, reflecting more than a mood. Along with the second single Sorrow and Shame as the second A side release, this duo is one reckless machine, turning the amp to 11:

Michellar-Intersection

From her choice of words to the apt collaborations and tunes, Michellar has had my heart since I first found out about her. As a songwriter, she is able to capture the visual aesthetics of what becomes a dreamy aspiration. Intersection shows her sing with Tobias Wilson to give the aesthetic of choice, where you find yourself standing at a crossroad. The jaunty rock swing still exists, as Michellar allows Tobias to shine in moments while having her strong presence in the composition. Her album Reverie…from then until now is chockful of songs that can emote the same way, like the pen and paper poems in a diary that made you fall in love with music first. Take the journey, and find yourself at that intersection…:

The Cumberland River Project-Looking For Romance

The dramatic swing of this track is something to dance to. Looking For Romance brings this excited, enthusiastic band for a funky, groovy number. It has one of the best chorus parts in terms of lyrics as well as composition. When the brass section steals thunder, you can hear the rhythm section hold the tempo so well. If you’re out looking for love, this is your cinematic interstitial journey. Each instrument tone adds to the candy sweet swing of this song. Liliia Kysil shines in this song, and TCRP know how to elevate a great musician with great music. This song was on repeat so many times, I found love around the corner. Let the disco ball spin, ask someone for a dance and who knows what could happen?
