Where We Sleep-Headlong
Your car doesn't have a gear high enough for this. Where we sleep, they bring some incredible high-octane rock and it feels illegal that they have left it right here on our doorstep. From their latest album, The Arsonist, this has soon become one of my favourite rock songs to start a long drive to. It has all the ingredients of what you would enjoy in rock: great lyrics, powerful creative direction, and a flow that can only be called aggressively aerodynamic. Beth Rettig tore up those rock inspiration guidebooks long ago and started brewing a cauldron with her own mischief. Her vocals are powerful, commanding, and engage a turbocharge whenever they want. A song like this just tells you, by its soul, to go steady. and don't rest till it's done:

Baïki-KosmoX
Cut to you just pressing the detonator. Baïki is the kind of name you never knew about and, in an instant, become very glad you do know. His music is composed in a way that makes you think but never forget your primal desire to be raw, agitated, and real. KosmoX brands itself a punk anthem from the moment you press the play button. By the time you take a few moments to get used to the rhythm, the temperature has changed. Singing in French, the distorted guitars now recede to make it seem like a poem is being read to you. There is an innate joy in the singer's voice and whether you understand French or not, it becomes definitely palpable. The aggression stays; then it goes. It's never predictable. These are ways the world works that we might never understand. Baïki expresses it though:
ReeToxA-Love Keeps Burning Still
When is the last time you heard a good ballad post-the year 2000? ReeToxA might not have either, so they sat down and made one. Love keeps burning still and has the tattooed core of any good song: melody and moving lyrics that make you feel that the song is about you. It becomes a kind of song that you will already start humming to by the time the second verse comes around. It's the way you used to sing to Bon Jovi and Whitesnake and all those classic rock bands that you love so much. ReeToxA not only knows how to bring that energy back but also adds to it with its own signature sound. After the expansive album "SOLILOQUY", the band from Australia is here to play music that tugs at the heartstrings. For that candle that keeps burning in your soul:
