Colours shine through this week's 3 in 1 indie pop with tracks from Red Skies Mourning, Paul Cafcae & Powers of the Monk

Indie pop this week changes colours from spectrums with tracks by Red Skies Mourning, Paul Cafcae & Powers of the Monk. Listen to their incredible music here and check out the reviews!:

Red Skies Mourning-Already Know

The inviting, invigorating spirit of Red Skies Mourning is the slice of delight you need. Positivity, addictive melodies and lyrical flow come together to make some amazing music. From their latest album, Myosotis, comes Already Know. It is a brilliant number that balances between the uptempo vices you love, with the kind of lyrics that are permanent earworms. This song induces nostalgia, yet seeks for something from the future. It is every bit retro as it is contemporary. Red Skies Mourning is Chris Aleshire, and his blend of genres he falls in love with make us fall in love with the result. This is more than a mood, but you already knew:

Paul Cafcae-Lyrical

The soothing exposition that Paul Cafcae brings is like listening to young Neil Young. The flow is magical, yet each vivid image frame stays in your mind. It is a brilliant theme, and his effort in the words are important. To make sure there is a light shone on the lyrics, the guitar strums become sparse, yet light on their toes. You’re gelling with the melody, while understanding the depth of his lyrics. Paul Cafcae is already strong with a steady fanbase from his 2021 album Where I Am and before. This just shows how he can play with words, how literal and lyrical he can get. Check out the melody here:

Powers of the Monk-Icarus

A legend that is misquoted, quoted and told in tales time and again. Powers of the Monk tells us a story through their unique style of composing music. David s. Monk & CasSondra Powers become a unit of melodic storytelling when they belt out this refreshing story. However, this isn’t as direct as you would imagine it to be. From ounces of melancholy to dollops of joy, Powers of the Monk can control it all with their composition. The duo are electric on their toes, yet know when to ease the gas when the words do the work. Expert at their craft, Icarus not only proves to be different, but one of their most melodically addictive. Like gobbling a cup of mad honey. Listen to the song here:
