It’s safe to say RÚARY is ahead of his time. Not only does he present a mélange of the genres and artists he loves, but nails the exposition with ease. It is the making of a musician who not only thinks in music, but themes, stories and characters as well. I present to you a movie in moments, Arrows.
Though it can be characterised as pop for the largest stroke, it is very nuanced in parts. It opens with a spoken word sentiment which teases the essence of the background ambience as well. The digital reveries intertwine with his vocals before the strong lead takes your breath away. It is the Chekhov’s Gun element he is giving you, knowing how the song’s outcome will be.
His vocals are warm, yet have a certain fear of the protagonist in it. He watches the melody with awe, as much as he participates in uplifting it. Arrows is one of his most creative compositions, and he’s going to keep us guessing. With this number however, he hits the target, and it’s a success in flow and feel.
