Indie rock kicks into an emotional gear with music from Andrew Schneider, Jivarp and Tellus Mater. Listen to their superb new releases here:

Andrew Schneider-Astonish Me

He really did. This song has every direction to astonish you for the baroque music layering that feels like a drama’s booklet has been placed on your lap. Whether you read the packet or not, in elusive frames, this will unfold in front of you. Astonish Me becomes an indie pop rock nugget that is more a tale with instrumental wisps showing themselves around the music. In more than one way, the track builds in terms of percussion and the choice of melodies that Andrew makes. Just over the 1:30 mark you experience a short instrumental segue which will guide you to the chorus phrase. Almost like a short trigger, the track starts to rumble with energy and brings that passionate songwriting with a burst of colour and mystery. From vocals to how the aesthetic is framed, you’re left with a treat to hear over and over:

Jivarp-You were my everything

Perhaps it is the jaded pop that resonates through the algorithm-centric radio that has bored me. Jivarp might not be a musician with a massive database of producers on his payroll. This is music that not only is lyrically defiant from the mediocre, but charges with intense passion. A familiar chord progression builds itself from a soft origin. The Swedish musician has finally found his calling in being able to harness such rewarding, well-written pop. The lyrical phases combine with crafted instrumental parts that lift at the right time. Bass aspects aren’t heavy, yet are designed for the effect of this song to really translate for us. You were my everything carries the magic of Lost in the night further to show Jivarp really honing his element. That’s a leader in sound, really making music for and from the heart.

Tellus Mater-SEEMS TO ME

With this third song under his belt, Tellus Mater achieves his trifecta. Perfectly designed, well executed tracks that fulfil their journey to the destination. SEEMS TO ME begins and lyrically resolves itself as a ballad that bounces with that indie rock energy that defines a generation of rabid rock lovers. When the chorus drops, there is an undeniable swirl of voltage changing, especially the guitars and drums really dialling to 11. Whether it’s GONE or Alone With You, there is a human aspect of songwriting Tellus Mater is able to capture through lyrical and instrumental revelry. You might be morose from how he feels, but these are the songs that leave a scar on the soul. SEEMS TO ME becomes Tellus’ spilling his thoughts while in hurt. Dramatically, he makes it seem to us the same way:
