4fro Nick-Don’t Waste My Time
Nick Anastasakis won’t deliver washed up rock tropes. He knows very clearly that he doesn't want other people to waste his time, so he gives something that is bang for the buck. 4fro Nick’s LA Mix of the same has a funky groovy rock build which starts with lead guitar. Like a cinematic opening for a movie like Ocean's Eleven, 4fro Nick brings all the funk and groove in one tight package. There are interesting lead harmonies being built in the background as the song amplifies. The addictive cascade towards the chorus is something else. You feel like you have invested in it, not just received it as a part of a song. It plays with rock dynamics with pride, charged with the charm of live instruments. Take him to the Greek just found new meaning:
Made of Sand-This Girl/That Boy
For being such a responsible adult, made of sand is going to gift you a nu-disco/deep house crossover. If you've been irresponsible, might as well take your car out for a late-night spin. This song starts with an industrial-type booming bass and catchy beat that echoes Tron: Ares from the moment you hit play. Aaron Fross, Dan Rolfe (synths/beats) and Matthew Davis on guitars Bring their wide range of inspiration and composition styles to this eclectic mix. The vocals become a brilliant contrast between the dark commanding beats and the scent that takes the background. It not only makes you appreciate the night but the picturesque haze that you can see on the horizon. This Girl/That Boy likes to leave you in limbo, trying to figure out whether all those feelings are real or just infatuation. Either way, you are encouraged to explore:
The Kerry Gray Project-Why We Met
Contemporary Rock is going through an incredible refresh, and I am here for it. The Kerry Grey Project is, in short, extremely prolific. They have been able to release singles and albums with consistent themes and heartfelt songwriting. It is the kind of band that figures out their dynamics early and keeps their chemistry smooth. Why We Met attempts to deliver on all those fronts and succeeds splendidly. Starting on the low register, the bass and steady beat capture attention. When Keri starts singing, the spotlight immediately flips to her. Combining exciting synth leads to harmonise with the vocals, you're looking at a chorus build-up that is designed as a perfect release. When the chorus synth flows in, you feel this sudden sense of elation and power that has been tailored into every detail of the track. Enjoy this thrill:
