Rock revs the gears up this week with 3 in 1 featuring Olive Dares the Darkness, Jared Hillock & Tom Minor. Listen to the songs here with us and give them a follow!:
Olive Dares the Darkness-Welcome to the Club (The Welcoming Remix Banned from the Club Mix)
Let’s go all out at a 100%. The first single is from a band from Charleston, SC, USA. What is quite typical of a band meet up from the 90s ensues. What you can be promised of is brilliant, explosive rock, with a bit of cheeky humour in what they do. The song Welcome to the Club infuses their rock sensibilities with charged electronic diffusions. Becca Darling has vocals that will rise to the top of the industrial, passionate deliveries from Danielle Carlson, Mr. Minister and Michael Baum. It has some terrific inspiration from The Welcoming, bands that have made the spine of the genre. This gives them a refreshing new side that will inspire generations of young musicians to join the rally. Now that you have your club pass:
Jared Hillock-Psilocybin Smile
You really won’t hear lyrics like this on the radio any more. Jared Hallock brings his rebellious writing style to a title that might throw you off. Psilocybin Smile has a boisterous, commanding groove paired with the Boise, Idaho musician’s clever lyricism and instrumentation. Played with The Integrity, the song has the balance of the joyous instrumentation with delicate harmonics woven through. The acoustic guitar and piano parts shine through once in a while, along with Jared’s powerful and commanding vocals. They do hold themselves with sensitivity, from the lyrical point of view and the narrator’s perspective they hold. Feel your head bobbing to this beautiful composition, highlighting the bright future for the Downtown singer:
Tom Minor-Future Is an F Word
The unique compositions of Tom Minor will close this interesting collection out. Composer of Eleven Easy Pieces on Anger & Disappointment, the musician has returned with his meta creative style and whip smart lyricism. Voluminous in effect and juxtaposed in ambience, Tom has brought a song that is more full of surprises than your average Christmas stocking. It is very fitting for a song that talks about the future, for it applies within the track limits itself. The minor note progression has a dramatic flair, while he sings like a mixture of Mercury and Elton John. The harmonics are also intriguing, his register changing how he channels the emotions of the lyrics. It is a masterclass in short movie making, and you get to watch it here:
