Stone cold rock brings us to new grooves with music from St. Divine, DownTown Mystic and Julie July Band. Listen to their refreshing music here with us:
St. Divine-Spit
Don your denim, and get the stereo on loud. This music should be played like everybody's listening. St. Divine have always had a firm claw on the dapper appeal of rock, but nothing works like grit and Spit. This is like a movie entrance scene that begins with a car chase, and the vigilante’s have got away. Like an Iggy Pop track, there is something that fuels the song, and its not just gasoline. I loved how elements like the bass accent the vocals, especially in terms of where the chorus and energy are. St. Divine have a chemistry like Bonnie and Clyde, and this car is flooring the pedal. You’re not here to feel the smoothness of polished rock. This is the one that makes your radio buzz with a soul that feels like its gone through shock therapy. These are verses and choruses that are a loudspeaker to your dreams:
DownTown Mystic – Hard Enough – Remix
Look, we’re never going to stop listening to this artist’s songs on this drive. DownTown Mystic returns with his talented crew, and this time we’re looking at Hard Enough again. Joe DeMaio and the troublemakers come together to make this blues rock track feel like it has an analogue heart again. The swing, bling and every part of the song that makes you sing have been retained. What this track has been reapproached as is your road trip jam, and DownTown Mystic has you covered. Mystic Highway was tailored to become the cassette tape to pass on to your kids with a great story to tell. As the whole band comes to keep reviewing the rhythm and puts the freshest clips on our plate, a rock jam doesn’t get better than this. No rock track goes as hard as this:
Julie July Band – All in Our Minds
The psychedelic gates of soothing indie rock have opened. Julie July Band can tell tales, but they spin colourful yarns that suspend deeper lore than what we can hear. From the lyrics Julie sings to the rock groove of the band, everything gels together like a palette of a masterpiece kept, harnessing its full potential. The instrumental background is the storybook that so smartly binds this whole story. Almost as though they’ve been inspired by Jefferson Airplane, the instrumental and rock elements shine through with a panache even seasoned bands find difficult. This is the way rock grooves are meant to be, a tale to be told while Julie’s dreamy lyrical odyssey guides you through like a magic carpet. This is the journey to be a part of, in and from our minds:
