Awaiting Abigail-Bad Mind
A kick-ass intro needs a boredom slicing riff. You need to be catapulted from a state of inertia to pure momentum, and Awaiting Abigail have that remedy. Bad Mind opens with what they are known for, killer hooks combined with those 90s soaked vocals that you need to tip the scales. It is one of their most addictive tracks, although all of them are in fierce competition. The chorus has a demonic chug, really amplifying how they use time and wrecking shit up with brilliant rhythm parts. At no point does the band compromise any part of the song for the spotlight effect. The symphonies are sound, the volume cranked loud, and they’re doing their mom & pop proud. The Cumberland River Project-Liquor Store
Intertwined with scrumptious melodies, The Cumberland River Project take a lot of inspiration from nature. Their latest single named Liquor Store eases with the currents-yet builds up quite the charge. It is a soothing, melodic song with harmonics that shimmer over the narration. Lyrics are portrayed as a story, refracting a much deeper meaning. The song shows Frank Renfordt’s roots and love all coming together to make another incredible song that leaves an indelible impact. The Back on the Road singer has a charisma that spills through the song, a wizened perspective that makes a song vivid from more angles than one. An incredible single that turns back time. Chapelton-Oh Lover
If we’re having an affair with time, might as well come clean. Chapelton’s latest single featuring Charlotte Churchman is the kind of velvet love letter that makes you blush 7 shades of red. With a minimal instrumental background, the lyrics are amplified with saccharine vocals and performative flair that exudes a personality far beyond the song. Harmonics will definitely bring a jacket of goosebumps to the party, and it cannot be argued that these vocalists are beyond the time stamp of this song. Oh Lover is the kind of song that is the perfect balance of instrumental and lyrical exception, both occupying your time for an eternity after the song is over. For those cosy evenings & long drives:
