I just listened to Paul McCartney's latest album, and man, what a great songwriter he is. Great songwriters come once in a lifetime, and Matt Deangelis knows exactly what makes a song great. In my six years of writing music there has not been a time where he has not taken me by surprise. His choice of lyrics, lucid storytelling, and bringing out the most innate desires through either melody or words is astounding. ‘Helpless to the Fire’ starts off like a rock ballad should but evolves to something so much more. Matt's voice is not only mature but motivating while having that painful hint of melancholy. You love how the song uses the same kind of chords from the beginning to the end, but how the dynamics build is what makes it a memorable composition. To more incredible music:

Did you ask the genie or wish for a song that can be your endless groove on repeat? Whether you did so or not, DOPESICKFLY have brought you a treat that you'll want to dance, stepping side to side to. This is indie rock with funk mixed with a generous spread of hip-hop, which makes for the kind of track you would have begged AI to make. Luckily for you, here is a group of humans that do not really understand this music very well but compose something that is refreshing, original, and true to the soul of music.
