Lawrence Timoni-Life’s a Mess (But We Love It)
From the smorgasbord of emotions comes another single from Lawrence Timoni. The multi-instrumentalist has a way of tantalising the aural halls with music that seems familiar, yet has layers to explore. Life’s a Mess is his opening single from the triple A side release, composed in a distinctive way. After the opening pulls you at breakneck speed through a narrow route, you’re thrown into an incoming wave of instrumental delight. Like a drama, the music can be divided into scenes, where melodies are able to represent this chaotic mess in a physical manifestation. The notes sometime bleed from one pocket to another, almost using the dissonance to create the so-called sonic jumble. Like all of Timoni’s tracks, you’ll love it:
Ethan Gold-Camera
Capture the essence of the moment in melody. Ethan Gold has been a strong advocate for music that incites strong visuals. His latest single Camera shows he’s able to slice that into fragments, while tailoring a psychedelic supernova that fits in your pocket. Accents whisper beside your ear, while percussions tend to almost fade away. You hone in on the lyrics, but they slip your frame of mind. The God Rising musician is able to develop a strong relationship with this inanimate object, something that triggers so many memories and influences our stage of mind. The tones are sharpened to soft, round edged aesthetics that tend to drip into each other like dense drops of caramel–just like the pace of the song. Take a snap:
Cody Piper-Be Quiet
Like the voice of your favourite movie. Cody Piper makes music like many others, sure, but why does it engrave itself in your brain so well? The musician has been able to develop a scenic, conversational dichotomy within his music that feels–unbroken. Be Quiet has a piano lead that might be in a major chord progression, yet holds a break that has some tonal melancholy. It is a perfect sine wave representation of our daily lives. There are instrumental and lyrical nuances that feel like commercial breaks to your TV shows from the 90s. You’re there, waiting for the plot to be sung to you. His soothing voice and melodic diversions are the treat of the niche, a lot of things to hear if you’re listening. Shh:
