These are rock tracks for the long road ahead with music from Rupert Träxler, The Attached Outsiders and Korda Korder. Listen to their expressive, beautiful songs here:

Rupert Träxler-Fear Factory

No words can describe fear the way melodies can. That’s what Rupert Träxler harnesses with his single from 2021, which we gingerly hover around today. These aren’t your jump scares – this sources genuine fears that might leave you emotionally paralysed. With bright guitar elements opening the song and creating the damning build, you wait till the light falls. When the percussion and vocals come in, they juxtapose in odd time with the chiming guitar in the background. There is an energetic break, with vocals that are emotive yet are able to represent the word 'fear'. When djent guitar riffs crack the sky, you’re shown stages of fear, the same way you’d transition through aspects of grief. Fear Factory is a song that uses its expanse to truly get into the heart and mind when it feels fear:

The Attached Outsiders-Just A Shadow

Those twisting, gentle melodies are a siren's call. They beckon you to come closer, to examine what's around. An explosive opening immediately after – this is the proper way to present a hard rock riff. The Attached Outsiders use their skilful instrumental control to carry an emotive crease within the song that can be seen by the time you reach the chorus. With songs like Pour Choices or Crowded Room also having equally expressive acoustic parts, the band showcases that the melodies are sound, and they carry a story. The track enjoys the contrasts of balancing between the heavy and the heartfelt. Tones are aggressive when they attack you in the chorus, but light and harmonic during the verse sections. Just A Shadow has the vocals that recognise the shadow creeping, an extension of you:

Korda Korder-Everything You Ever Wanted to Be

Dream pop should sound like one straight out of a hallucinatory dream. This East Sussex collective comes together with incredible harmony to create tunes that extract some of the most dreamy tones, leading through the vocals. When ambient waves are added to the mix, it is like staring at a swirl of paint palette colours coming together but never really becoming one. It is a reach towards ambition, but as you reach further, the distance grows like longing. Korda Korder has also had I Was Your Witness released this year to capture an extension of the brain that exists between states of consciousness. When the chorus elevates the track, you can still hear the lead from the distortion backing the lyrics. No wonder this collective is so popular on radios, for this is the frequency dreams are made of:
