There are moment of light and darkness in this week's incredible 3 in 1 rock with Sam Lumar, Tom Minor & Tomas Raae. Listen to the ethereal, vivid sounds here:
Sam Lumar-Fair Emotion
There is music, and there’s spirit in music. Sam Lumar has the ability to interweave this to make truly inspiring tunes. His latest single is a synthwave seasoned number which has quite the build. If you’re talking about emotions, let it be a burst that is expressed well. Sam has the electronica opening with his amazing vocals, which blend into the theme of the song perfectly. He patiently waits for the “rock element” to completely take over the exhilarating energy of the song. The chord progression is accented with hues of mirth when the verse sections take control of the track. The Soda singer is on a route to experiment more, so check it out here:
Tom Minor-The Bad Life
That classic rock breeze blows through your hair. For me, at least whatever is left on top of my head anyway. The lyrics weave a story and the crunchy, addictive tone of the guitar calls out my name, indirectly. Tom Minor is a rock star who owns his own galaxy. His way of exploring complex emotional palettes through the eyes of rock is something else. With Creatures of Habit, The Bad Life is that radio frequency that brought a smile across your face. That scale climb and playful riff, that’s how he brings the contrast right to your face. It might be a bad life overall, but Tom Minor sure can change that:
Tomas Raae-Jeg Glemmer Dig Aldrig
This might not be your typical rock feel. Tomas Raae however, knows how to balance a picturesque soundscape. Inspired by the likes of Nick Cave & Warren Ellis and ambiences by Ryuichi Sakamoto- Jeg Glemmer Dig Aldrig is a meditation in sound. Not only does it have deep meditative connotations, but somehow the breath like pattern seems to physically alter the atmosphere. The percussions melt away in the background while the notes are highlighted by vocal superpositions. Though this is an avant-garde number, there is a purpose within this song that is therapeutic for a long drive. The long open road, this reflecting off the panes of the car window. A chapter in solitude, with music:
