Until They Burn Me-Revealed To Him in the Wild
As the dusty winds unfurl, your humming engine cuts through the sillence of the desert. Until They Burn Me really know how to write a scene into place, and this album has gems uncovered all over. Revealed To Him in the Wild is the meaty middle we encounter, and it has all the ingredients for a rich recipe. Strumming guitar tones play with a steady, crisp percussive sound. Vocals have this echoing effect, although as if your conscience is speaking to you. Some words are delicate, some have the push and intention of the wild. I loved how the tones layer themselves as distinct aspects, yet gel together to make this barren soundscape a colourful aesthetic. Tame your senses and challenge yourself for more. You’re going to be thrown into the wild:
Martin Kuiper-Ego
Martin, god bless that bass tone and you. One of the most unique and noise cutting tracks I’ve heard in a long time, there’s a magic Martin Kuiper is able to whip into his music. The track is a fantastic climb of hope, self-image and all the natural, raw flow that rock has missed for quite some time. I dare you to give any credit of this track to AI. The harmonics on the chorus were pure goosebump category. A guitar solo gives a joyous return, a whiff of life into an industry which has become annoyingly predictable. We can expect many more songs on his upcoming album called Prison Of Modesty. It truly is refreshing to hear mature lyrics which are a slice of self than lyrics that sound the exact same. Quench your ego here:
CATSINGTON-no we know
Fine juxtaposition, team. CATSINGTON have always known how to ruffle feathers pleasantly with the kind of textures they have in their melodies. As the bass line in no we know follows a darker aesthetic, there is a lighter bounce to the lyrics and guitar parts. A funk blended into new wave, it’s almost too complex to describe this track. It’s like listening to an uber inspired Talking Heads-while having all the contemporary sharp edges that make an artistic entity stand out. There are 6 tracks in this collection, and I recommend a run through all of them. In some parts, the song diffuses to become just the melodies, then the two layered vocal parts that have an interesting “no no” soundbite added as well. You’ll love it. No, we know:
