Dax-Lonely Dirt Road
Since his humble beginnings, Dax has taken strides with gusts of support from God. This musician started out in hip-hop, but has traversed through gospel, R&B and country to make his connection with music and his spiritual self. Lonely Dirt Road is where he is engrossed in thought, in a conversation with his introverted personification. Dax sings with pain and passion, and makes sure his gratitude is heard. The instrumentals are soft, soothing and a support feature for the poetry that he delivers to us so well. This track shows him go solo after some amazing collabs, returning to his own comfortable skin, and giving us something we can cherish:
Johnny Fordyce-Be Your Woman
The dream pop lovebird from Philly has returned with his latest single. After his 2022 EP jawny., it was obvious that he had amalgamated a sub-genre in the cauldron that is his bedroom. The result is what you get to hear amplified, simple emotions and magnetic instrumentals. The ambience he sets forth is your dream springboard, you see yourself vaulting for hours amidst a cushion of clouds. Johnny Fordyce uses pauses and melodic skirtings to make a recipe that you just cant get enough of. This is midnight forbidden pleasure, Be Your Woman becomes the next stepping stone of Johnny’s candyland fantasy we just got passes to:
Maisyn-Fracture
If you’re feeling broken, Maisyn sympathises. However, she has the power of music to uplift. If the truth hits hard through her music, you’re processing through a wave of ambient instrumental flurries, while her voice is in the spotlight. It shines bright, is vulnerable and is the performance that makes you swell with a sigh of relief as well. The percussions are diffused, almost to not disturb the emotions that sing you this lullaby. It is sweeter than honey, her voice, yet there is a slight acidity in how she walks you through the healing. It is a balanced, incredible song that shows her talent in a platform only she can stand on. Not your regular pop, not your cool grl:
