The Cumberland River Project-It’s Still Going On

Back to those moments where pure songwriting brought us together. The Cumberland River Project were always champions of how music flowed through beautifully, churning an essential ocean of love and hope for the Earth. This song connects it all, the way The Beatles did with their music. It’s Still Going On has a simple melody, soft caressing vocals and instrumentals that glide along the message. The percussion leaves pauses, almost so that you can think about the words and the message being spread. A joyous, colourful chorus comes together, piecing a perfect puzzle of symphony and harmony. This is unity in all its glory and colour, and the project is able to put it together with some reflective, progressive thought and style. An amazing song, bringing TCRPs strength with style:

Farbod Biglari-Café

Understanding the place a melody can take you to. Farbod Biglari is a talented musician, but he’s even greater transporter to places. You might have never visited this Café, but his beautiful track opens the doors to the delicious wafting essence of the coffee and savouries that are kept together. It is a pairing made in heaven, where his soothing, explorative vocals bring the vernacular through the music and keep the instrumental as well crafted and balanced as he can. At points, you will find yourself swirling in a floating perfect latte cloud-while Farbod’s powerful, narrative strong voice carries the magic of the song in all its glory. Forward, well textured and yet approachable, this is the kind of song that should be appreciated for all its little details:

Karim Albert Kook-Rolling and Tumbling

Let’s get back to bluesy roots. Karim Albert Kook doesn’t want you to hear the hybrid hubris of blues that gets muddled into the radio nowadays. This is blues like you’ve known it-the appreciation and magic about it will get you driving. The opening of the album is called Rolling and Tumbling-no percussions, no fancy production. Notes that are truly blues based, with harmonica and a groove that is undeniable. Bineau and Kook are one in energy, bringing the style the respect and the delivery it deserves. The track is packed with inspiration, scale runs and beautiful solos that swirl into one delectable package. The album is called Roots of Blues, and it's easy to say that it’s one of the strongest albums put forth for the genre I’ve heard all year:
