The Radio Addicts-Before My Eyes

God, I love the youth getting into making live music. This band is hope, in a capsule. From Scroll My Life Away to this number, the group has been able to tap into a powerful new element of the people who live in this world-relevance. The Radio Addicts are a raw, unhinged energy, putting it all together channelled in their instruments. I loved how none of the things are overproduced, this is a band coming together to play and have fun with the stuff. Like all the punk bands that might have ever influenced them, you can hear this mix have all the little kinks and scratches you’d expect to hear in a kickass rock track that was performed with that thrill. Swear to you, a band with promise, before your eyes:

Mangy Mutt-Misery Loves Company

Now dial it back for vintage vibes. Mangy Mutt is another artist who has only a couple of songs out, but they are a solid imprint of what their musical future would be like. This is raw melodic reveries put together after pressing record on an 8 track tape. Mangy Mutt bares soul with the kind of music he writes, keeping the rhythm buzzing. His lyrics are poetic, while having the country zeal you’d want to groove to. The chord progression stands out, in contrast to his vocals. From Souls Who Weep to Misery, there is a presentation in this songwriter's dream where you can dial into the music and nothing more. At a time where facades are false, this musician scrapes the elements with a certain finesse-keeping the edges raw:

Gudness-We’re All Good

Leave it to the Brits to really bring that genuine pop rock sound. From the live scene of Leicester-they are able to churn a melodic theme that doesn’t cater to trends, while curling a tab of psychedelics all through tones and effective songwriting. From The Smiths to certain flurries of Oasis, the band is able to bring that retro static buzzing back to life with their compositions. Self Help Cemetery and In This House show their style to be a fun, whimsical one. While they enjoy having fun, their music carries their love of layered tunes and details that you might miss in the first listen. The kind of song that you bob your head to when you’re driving in the rain, and the car smells like coffee and cotton candy:
