Rock out to tracks that made a splash with music from KaiserKillers, 9 o'clock Nasty & Joe Hodgson. Listen to their music here and follow them for more!:
KaiserKillers-Love Conquers All(25 Mix)
Let’s dive into the soul of punk. Contrasting, you wonder? I refuse to think so. KaiserKillers are the establishment crushing birth of new punk rock, and they know how to spread the news. Their single Lover Conquers All has a dynamism that you can’t quite place your finger on. The band is unapologetically human in their approach-you can feel the tempo pulsate and excitement palpable in the vocals. It builds with a thumping percussion, while familiar chord changes take you through the zeal of the song with grace. Gun Crazy and Heavenly in Black are other must listens from the band-bringing something new to the sound every time they jam out. Unorthodox, and just as bit exciting:
9 o’clock Nasty-Peacekeeper
Remember that devilish riff from Nirvana’s Breed? Well, 9 o’clock Nasty seem to know where an impulse like that belongs, and Peacekeeper is a song that needs to say no more. You find yourself singing the riff, while the vocals come to you with signature urgency. The band have reinvented themselves through so many costumes, you might never know what mask they’re wearing now. This is indie rock incandescent-and 9 o’clock Nasty bring that retro atmosphere with an amalgam of instruments new gen kids might not be able to name. Boys, great harmony on the “get me ready for war” part. It is a track that you expect people to listen to while charging down the field, skipping past landmines that will blow them sky-high:
Joe Hodgson-Shapeshifting
If you remember the first time you listened to Satriani, you know the rush of hearing an instrument exceed its own expectations. Joe Hodgson knows his guitar better than he might know himself. From his approach to songwriting to composing the most delectable melodies-I find it hard to decompose any song enough to understand what is going on. A thesaurus of tunes, he churns out tracks in Fields of Redemption that might have never been processed by your brain. It is an incredible experience overall, and Shapeshifting is one of my favourite for how it phases through genres. A true connoisseur and virtuoso of the guitar, it takes centre stage to truly flourish as the showstopper. Presenting a moment of your life where the change is instant:
