Bring the snacks and hit the road with indie rock from Pennan Brae, Ezra Vancil & Audren. Listen to their latest tracks here:

Pennan Brae-It Ain’t Perfect But It’s Free

Look, we know how good of a earworm a great track is. Pennan Brae knows and imbibes this in his music, because we’ve got an album full of music like this. I personally loved the opening single more than anything else, it’s the long drive breeze of freedom you want to feel on your face. It has a funky foundation, and builds with some really kick-ass layers. The piano can be heard distinctly in the base, while the brass brings a dramatic flair to the song. When the lyrics aren’t being delivered, Pennan ensures you’re able to swing to the 1-2 styled riff that he has for you. With Steve Ferrone, he seems to have made music that would be born straight out of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Come on, take a listen. It’s perfect, and happens to be free:

Ezra Vancil-Island

Tell me you didn’t get your slice of paradise with this song. Forget lo-fi lazy elements, this is how you show passion and detail in soothing, influential songs. From the chord progression to the thrill of reaching the chorus, Ezra Vancil excavates a massive body of water around us. This is your escape, your break and moment of reflection. A choice of soft percussion with instrumental tones that glide past you, Island is the song you revisit when you’re driving in a long stretch. As simple as the song is, you get detail in the kind of short solos and swirling elements Ezra leaves in the song. If you were wondering how beautiful the track would sound as an acoustic, you don’t have to. There’s a short and sweet section that does exactly that:

Audren-When Freedom Dies

I could get used to this kind of groovy synthwave lead opening. Audren has a wide range of influences, and that creates a very interesting soundscape that serves as your canvas. It is on this we’re listening to a track like When Freedom Dies. With vivid, well crafted lyrics, she allows the words to breathe and create the kind of aesthetic you can obsess over. The spotlight falls on her voice, along with the shuffling, quick drum percussion. A contrast is created in her vocal delivery and the echoing, ambient textures. You’ll find yourself getting enveloped into this incredible bubble of melodic intensity, where instrumental breaks cut through. The Good Road and A New Page are also must listens from Audren, expanding her range to show some great dynamism as an artist. Here is her latest offering:
