The Rainy Season-Peachtree
Let that good time atmosphere soak you in. A tune that brings you a 90s essence, Peachtree is a surreal song to experience, both in terms of theme and lyricism. Like your radio rock bands that took over the 00s, The Rainy Season has a heartbeat like percussion, steady with that anthemic rock build. The emotional chorus is a thrill, showing how well the band is able to channel in a passionate exchange. Melodies overlap with crisp, atmospheric harmonies-making this tune a definite keep on any indie rock playlist. There is just a tangible happiness to the track that really reverberates in your soul. From the beautiful track called In This Moment to the latest Peachtree, this is a class act that breaks the barriers of reality and imagination:
Joseph Schwartz-Ready for Doom
You deserve your own main character anthem. Joseph Schwartz is a talented composer and musician, but most importantly can evoke a story. Ready for Doom is the title track of the EP of the same name. Like any mythological lore, there is suspense in the finger style guitar that graces the opening and the silken strings that serenade you. His incredible voice comes in, commanding-yet being able to blend into the background to create something truly exciting and emotional. This is the kind of song I can confidently say has horsepower, with how it eventually builds like a story. There is soul, an almost legacy based lyrical expression and performance as well. You can’t force this into any genre, for Joseph gives us 4 different versions to explore. Check it out here:
Kallai-Protector
It’s an exciting day for me. One of my favourite indie bands has released their album. Kallai are back, with an entire album this time. This one is called We Are Forever, and it's full of music that can create an aesthetic and flow with a generous pace. Protector is one of my favourites from the album, though it was difficult to pick. Their attention to tone and chord progressions is intense, almost as though the delivery and essence of each of the notes ringing out has been perfected. It is more of an ambience that they perfect, with vocals that are reminiscent of shoegaze and prog rock music. Even the parts with no vocals dwell on the progression with a warm, inviting instrumental part that you’ll return to listen to. More than what we deserved:
